Did you know that 97% of women have hateful self-talk

when they walk past a mirror?

What do you see when you look in a mirror?

Do you see your scars as "imperfections" or do you see your scars as a mark of your bravery and a story of your survival?

Everything in life is about perspective.

When you change the way you look at things...

...the things you look at change.

A scar simply means you are stronger than that which tried to hurt you.

Participate in an upcoming ScART Event

Anyone with seen or unseen scars is encouraged to participate in ScART.

Past participants include Cancer Survivors, Open Heart Surgery Survivors,

Organ Donor Recipients, and War Veterans (to name a few).

A portion of the proceeds from each event will be donated to the “We Lift You Up” Fund - a 501(c)3 public charity dedicated to helping women embrace life beyond cancer.

What is "ScART"?

ScART (which stands for "Scar Art") is an empowering painting experience.  It has been designed as a supportive group experience, where participants are given the opportunity to see their scars through a new lens.  Using art as the tool, participants engage in a 3-part class, comprised of:

  1. An insightful and thought-provoking homework assignment to prepare for the class (done in the privacy of their homes)
  2. A group class experience attended in the studio or in an on-line virtual class with a live instructor
  3. An opportunity to share insights with the other participants in your group, and also optionally on-line in a national story-telling platform that celebrates each ScART participant.

Every scar tells a story.

See your scars through a new lens.

Scars are something nearly everyone has to deal with at some point in their lives.  For some, scars are tucked away, never to be thought of again. For others, scars can be a daily reminder of a life event that caused them. The ScART program gives participants the opportunity to examine their emotional relationship to their scars using art as the tool.

Change what you see.

Find beauty in scars through a national community of survivors.

The objective of the ScART program is to facilitate connections and create conversations with others who have scars at private group or individual paint classes nationwide.
